A win!

Well at least 2nd place at the Allentown Art Festival this past weekend. My photo Ghost Olive placed second in the photography category. As this was my first showing I was surprised at this, although as I looked at the other artists work there wasn’t anything similar to mine being shown.

I don’t need the validation in as much as I appreciate the recognition that what I see is also seen by others as interesting and thought provoking. Many attendees stopped by my tent and asked about the image. Where the photos were taken and how I achieved the effect. Not to “steal” the idea just out of curiosity.

What is of particular interest to me is what they saw in the image other than it’s actual depictions. Some saw a stage and theater. Some a larger building. Some could see the olive and the tortoise sculpture beyond. All appreciated it when I showed the initial images and explained the where and how.

What are your thoughts?
